AUTHORITY
____________

'Authority is nothing unless you authorise it yourself.'
P.K. Sharpen

The notion of some 'authority' is steeped in human condition. But, I ask, how did this come about? Why do we assume some faceless entitity or entities are 'authorities'.

An authority is some-one who has some special knowledge based on years of experience and personal observation. An authority is a person who has learned to survive through personal experience, making mistakes and learning from them, taking a risk as surviving the experience.

An authority is not a college degree. A college degree (if it is worth anything at all) is merely a recognition that some-one has learned something. That should be given by peers who have first-hand knowledge, not some body of previously 'degreed' persons, although they claim to be the authorities.

Also, that authority is changing all the time due to further experience/s. It can never be static. Life is not static, it is dynamic. Static is DEAD, not living.

Basically, in our present age, 'authorities' are bullies. They are the remains of the past who pervade our future, if we let them. If we let them, I repeat.

We are born into a world that is dominated by these self-appointed 'authorities'/bullies. They are the kings and queens, the despots, the presidents and so forth. Their power is the Right of Might, nothing else.  Although they want to destroy us, they cannot live withour us.

They do, however, think that they own us. They believe that we are their 'subjects'.

I was presumed to  be a 'subject' of the king of England, when I was born. Who does he think he is (or was)? I am the 'subject' of no man, any more than anyone else is 'subject' to any doctrine, religious or otherwise. What gall! What egotistical BS!

I believe that people should be left to be people. I am a person who was born in what they choose to call England. That apparently makes me English. I dispute this. I am a person who lives in what they call England. As a word, England means nothing. By now, it also makes me British, European, Western and goodness knows what else. They can call the place what they like, I just live here until I want to move somewhere else.

I object, totally to the notion of 'alliegence'. To whom, and why? To give up my soul for some unknown quantity?

I struggle hard to keep my independence from everybody, even plumbers/carpenters/mechanics and so on. I am free of debt because I have worked to control that. I'm not at all 'rich' (except in health and happiness and a sense of humour) and I own everything I have which has taken may years.

I have never and will never 'vote' for anyone to take control over my being. I am my own person, no-one else's, whatever they might say or think.

That's why I wrote My Declaration.
