THIS ANTI-SEMITISM NONSENSE
_________________________________

Quite frankly, I can't be the only person who is sick and tired of this 'anti-Semitism' tripe that abounds everywhere.

The remark seems to be applied to a group of religious individuals called 'Jews'.

The phrase anti-Semite seems to refer only to one group of people considered by many to be a race of people, whereas, Jews are not a race of people. This is like saying that Christians/Hindus and so on and so on, are a race. They are clearly not.

Jews are people who follow the religion of Judaism.

The Jews are Semitic as are Arabs. Therefore, to be anti-Semitic is to dislike (or whatever) both a person who follows Judaism as well as whatever Arabs believe in. This make a nonsense of the term from the start (unless you dislike both religions).

I don't like or follow any religion, personally. That does not make me necessarily anti-religious; I'm neither for or against, in philosophical terms.

After all, it is not what you say, but how you say it that matters. Words are only that, words/sounds.

Other animals know not words, only sounds. They respond to any 'words' aimed at them only because of the nature of the utterance. If you say 'fire' no one will take any notice. If you shout 'FIRE!' then people will start to do something. It's also conditioned learning.

Whatever you call a person is determined by the way they react. If you are being nasty, then virtually anything will do: 'You stupid TREE!' for example.

The idea of perpetrating hatred on a person is to call them something which hurts them, depending on their perception of what you are doing. Again, anything might do.

The best thing is not to name-call at all either inw writing, speech, or whatever. All peoples have differences which others do not like, we must learn to accommodate them, not fly at them for being different from us as individuals. There are no excuses.

We need to get our facts clear, though. Nearly everyone has a grievance about something but it is inappropriate to undignify oursleves with hurting others to get your own 'agenda' across. There are other ways of overcoming difficulties with others, unfortunately not everyone has the capabilities of doing this, to their detriment, of course. These are the bullies/controllers.  Bullies will use any (inappropriate) means to get their point across. These people are of the 'I'm-a-victim' mentality.  These people are sub-human; they are certainly not animals either.

However, the point about the term 'anti-Semitic' is quite pointless in this instance because Jews are really as much Semites as the Arabs they purport to hate. The fact that modern Jews, as described in the Jewish Encyclopaedia, are pretty well proven to be descendants of Armenians and Hittites of Mesopotamia makes the remark even more implausible.

However, I suppose, the term anti-Armenian/Hittitieism may be a bit of a mouthful, even if it could be spelt by those who might mouth it.
